Hi I’m Sally – a local Ocean Grove resident, Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and Nutritionist and owner of Bodywise Nutrition. And, I’m Amy, also an APD and Nutritionist who has recently joined the practice at Ocean Grove.
We are nutrition scientists with a minimum of four years’ university study behind us. We take very seriously our responsibility of providing evidence-based nutrition advice and support. This means the residents of the Bellarine Peninsular can be confident that advice from us is solid and trustworthy.
We help treat a wide range of conditions in adults and children including diabetes, heart disease, cancers, gastrointestinal diseases, food allergies, food intolerance’s, disordered eating as well as overweight and obesity. We’re also here to educate and support those people just wishing to be a healthier version of themselves.
We understand that there is no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to diet and nutrition (in other words, what works for one person may be different to what works for another). And the truth is that there are many ways for people to have a healthy diet.
And it’s at this individual level that an we can help. We consider the whole person – that is, each person’s unique profile, such as their medical history, as well as their needs, goals and lifestyle. We also assess the body of scientific evidence, and are flexible with the advice and support offered, on a case-by-case basis.
Being able to tailor nutrition advice to find the best approach for each person is the cornerstone of ‘Medical Nutrition Therapy’ – it’s what APDs are qualified to do.
