If you are suffering from musculoskeletal pain, injuries, or dysfunctions that are having an impact on your movement and/or mobility, then myotherapy may be just what you need. Myotherapy involves the assessment and treatment of these conditions and is used in all stages of therapy to restore and maintain the integrity and correct functioning of soft issues.
When you visit Ocean Grove Allied Health Clinic, your myotherapist will use a range of techniques, based on your individual situation. These techniques can include:
When you arrive for your initial consultation, we will need you to complete a health history form and dry needling consent form. Following this, your myotherapist will talk you through your medical history and reasons for treatment.
After this, you will undergo an assessment that looks at postural, functional movement, and palpation, to further determine what areas require treatment. Once the assessment is complete, your myotherapist will discuss treatment options and plans, working in conjunction with your desires to formulate the most appropriate treatment plan. Once everything has been confirmed, we will begin physical treatment.
Please note that pending the results of your assessment, multiple modalities may be used.
You may be required to move around and undress during your appointment so please wear appropriate underwear and comfortable clothing that you can move in.
We simply ask that you do not wear jeans (this makes assessment difficult), or racer back bras if here for upper body treatments.
